Ms. Shan Greer is a Caribbean arbitrator, mediator, and advocate with over twenty years of experience handling complex and high-value commercial disputes. Specializing in construction, engineering, and oil and gas disputes, her practice has a strong emphasis on major building and infrastructure projects. She has also handled a wide range of disputes across industries such as banking and finance, energy, telecommunications, and property development. Ms. Greer has worked extensively in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Caribbean, making her a leading figure in international arbitration.

Ms. Greer is a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, possesses a Master’s degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from Kings College London, and holds an Executive Certificate in Conflict Management from the University of Windsor. She has worked in multiple jurisdictions and has been admitted to practice in England and Wales, Saint Lucia, Belize and St. Vincent. Ms. Greer currently serves as CEO of the British Virgin Islands International Arbitration Centre, is a Member of the ICC Institute of World Business Law, and is a co-founder of the Caribbean ADR Initiative, a nonprofit promoting arbitration in the Caribbean.

Ms. Greer’s practice is primarily focused on commercial arbitration within the Caribbean. Over the past ten years, Ms. Shan Greer has been regularly appointed as an arbitrator in international and domestic disputes governed by the laws of civil and common law jurisdictions under various arbitration rules. She is currently named to the roster of commercial arbitrators with the British Virgin Islands International Arbitration Centre, the Dispute Resolution Centre in Trinidad and Tobago, the Dispute Resolution Association in St. Lucia and the Jamaica International Arbitration Centre. In addition, she has been nominated by Saint Lucia for inclusion in the CARICOM Secretariat’s List of Arbitrators and Conciliators established pursuant to the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas as well as appointed a director of the Arbitration and Mediation Court of the Caribbean.
